Cammie was rescued from a home that wouldn’t let her inside. She’s a little timid and prefers a quiet, predictable home. She has a neurological condition so sways when standing and has an slight stagger when walking slowly. She should only be walked on a harness as that supports her instead of disrupting her balance as a neck collar can.

Her guesstimated birthday is Sept. 2015 and she weighs about 16 lb. She has a desire to please and likes other animals. However, she is a little unnerved by the puppies in her foster mom’s home.

Cammie is house-trained, leash-trained (she would regularly walk 3 miles with her rescuer), and crate-trained. She’s nervous when picked up and held, possibly because of her lack of socialization by her original owner.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we frequently have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. We suggest first time pet owners look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our local low-cost spay/neuter clinic (overnight stay required) and surgery occurs as agreed upon in the adoption contract. Convenience fee may be added if using our veterinarian. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is
