Tas – Draco

Adoptable Medium Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

Tas enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He ignores the cats. He’s full grown at about 45 lb.

He’s a year old and looks like a mini-Am. Staff. He’s leash-trained and enjoys getting out for walks and other sniff adventures. He’ll jump a 5-foot fence if left outside alone. He develops a strong love for his people. As with any new dog, he should be fed separately from his housemates until you’re sure he doesn’t exhibit resource guarding.

Tas is crate-trained, but his surrendering owner had to keep him crated for long periods of time, so retraining is being worked on at his foster’s and going well (throwing in treats & leaving the door open most of the time 🙂 Once in his crate, he sleeps all night.

A regular schedule is needed the first few days so he knows to wait for potty breaks. His new foster limited his access to the house initially, keeping him with her on-leash primarily in the kitchen. There have been no accidents, but it takes him a few days to settle into a new situation.

Tas plays gently with the puppies in his foster home. He shows a tendency to guard toys when the other big dogs are around, so toy time should be supervised. He takes the toys into his crate, then goes back in to get them as he chooses 🙂 Tas will de-stuff toys, so chewing toys are the best. He loves to chew on a variety of toys.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we frequently have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. We suggest first time pet owners look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience.

All adoption fees cover two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our veterinarian and surgery occurs as agreed upon. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply. We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
