Woof

Australian Shepherd - Husky - Young - Male
Adoptable Medium Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

Woof arrived at his rescuer’s have and was so hungry he tried to get into the chicken yard. Since gaining back much needed weight, he still would like to chase those feathery squeaky toys, so needs a new home where there won’t be temptations. He’ll bark at the foster’s cats, but doesn’t seem inclined to bother them – although he’s crated when unsupervised to make sure.

With a guesstimated birthdate in Jan. 2018, Woof is full grown and a very sweet boy. He loves people and loves to play with other dogs. Even when the other dog rebuffs his enthusiasm. When that happens, Woof doesn’t get mad but gives them another chance to change their mind. His foster will help him learn better dog manners.

Woof weighs about 50 lb and is in his foster’s house. He doesn’t have any trouble waiting for potty breaks, but they should be frequent initially so he can learn the household routine and know that if he waits he’ll go out.

There’s a shallow creek at Woof’s foster home and he enjoys playing in the water. He has learned to leave the horses alone, but should be supervised if outside near large animals to reinforce this behavior.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we frequently have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. We suggest first time pet owners look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our local low-cost spay/neuter clinic (overnight stay required) and surgery occurs as agreed upon in the adoption contract. Convenience fee may be added if using our veterinarian. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
